Wine & Design | Still Life with Dahlias | Friday Sept. 15th

The Still Life floral paintings of the Dutch Golden Era were dark, beautiful and sometimes morbidly  introspective paintings, reflective of the culture and era in which they were created. We will highlight the season's Queen of the Garden, the beautiful and Diverse Dahlia and combine them with other seasonal blooms berries along with beautiful die cut insects by Moth & Myth- to add a little 'memento mori'-  reminders of the inevitability of death and the return back to the earth.

During this 2.5 hr class, we will delve briefly into the historical influences on this style of floral design, creating elevated, floriferous designs reminiscent of these paintings. All while sipping delicious PNW wine and enjoying our own beautiful moment on earth.
